Each piece of jewelry is handcrafted at my studio on the coast of Maine. We live in a lovely wooded area on a sheltered bay, an inspiring location. Complimentary colors of glass & dichroic glass are carefully layered until I achieve the desired effect.
Dichroic glass is a spin-off from the space industry; glass that's coated with an extremely thin metallized layer so that certain wavelengths of light are transmitted while others are reflected. It's the interplay of the transmitted and reflected colors that create the beautiful visual effects that make this material so desirable. Each piece is fired several times at temperatures between 1300 & 1800 degrees until I achieve the desired degree of dimension. Three, four, or five layers fuse to produce irregular 3 dimensional fiery pieces. The camera simply cannot capture the breathtaking colors. You WILL receive compliments whenever you wear any of these unique pieces. No chance of seeing a duplicate piece; no two are ever alike. A word about pendants... A sterling silver plated bail and black satin cord are attached to each one. We can furnish sterling silver chains at an additional charge if desired.
